Taiwo Awoniyi has stressed that Nottingham Forest will approach their decisive clash against Aston Villa with a firm “three points mentality”.
The Nigerian forward highlighted the team’s collective progress this season, noting that the squad remains focused on taking things one game at a time while aiming for a strong finish.
“I think for us as a team when you look at the whole season from the start to where we are, I think the boys are brilliant,” Awoniyi declared.
“The game against Aston Villa is another important game, and I think at the end we go there with another three points mentality. But then we will see what next till the end of the season.”
Meanwhile, Forest manager Vítor Pereira has cast doubt over the availability of Ola Aina ahead of the second leg.
The defender was forced off in the 75th minute during the first leg and was absent from the squad in their recent outing against Chelsea.

Providing an update, Pereira admitted that several players are being assessed, though he remains confident in the squad’s mindset heading into the tie.
“A lot of doubts, we can have doubts in the players but we can’t have doubts about the spirit what we want our belief about everything, about resilience, what we should do tactically, this is something we can’t have doubts about.”
Forest travel to Villa Park holding a slender 1-0 advantage from the first leg, with a place in the final of the UEFA Europa League at stake.
