Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini has heaped praise on Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, crediting him for elevating the team following his standout performance in their 4-0 demolition of Juventus on Sunday.
Lookman was on target as Atalanta ran riot at the Allianz Stadium, securing a statement victory that keeps them firmly in the Serie A title race.

The Nigerian was substituted in the 80th minute and shared an embrace with Gasperini on the touchline, a moment that signaled a possible thaw in their recent strained relationship.
Speaking after the dominant win over Juventus, Gasperini reflected on Lookman’s growth and hinted at a major role for the forward before the season ends.
“When a group spends 300 days together in a year, people can have different views,” Gasperini said in his post-match press conference (via Football Italia).
“Lookman became a fantastic player when he improved his perception of the team. He used to have a more individual approach. He wasn’t a bad guy, but he mostly focused on the individual.

“He made Atalanta great, and Atalanta made him great. I am convinced he can be the captain before the end of the season.”
Lookman has been a key figure in Atalanta’s attack this season, delivering 25 goal involvements; 18 goals and 7 assists in 31 matches across all competitions.
Atalanta will return to action next weekend against league leaders Inter Milan, and all eyes will be on the Nigerian.
