Negotiations between Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and Simba SC have broken down after both parties failed to agree on the player’s personal terms.

Simba SC reportedly pulled out of the deal due to concerns over Nwabali’s salary expectations and contract demands.

The Tanzanian giants had been monitoring the shot-stopper since his time at Chippa United, where he previously played before becoming a free agent earlier this year.

Nwabali terminated his contract with Chippa United in January and is currently without a club.

His uncertain club situation appears to be impacting his international career, as he was not included in Nigeria’s squad for the most recent friendly matches.

With competition increasing in the Super Eagles’ goalkeeping department, players like Maduka Okoye and Arthur Okonkwo have gained more playing time this season, potentially strengthening their positions ahead of future selections under head coach Eric Chelle.

Despite the setback, Nwabali remains active, currently training in Nigeria with former international goalkeeper Greg Etafia to maintain his fitness and sharpness.

Clubs across South Africa, North Africa, and Europe are reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation as he looks to secure his next move.
