He’s on the move again.

Former Liverpool FC captain Jordan Henderson looks like he’s on the move again, and could potentially face his former club if results and the draw work out, could lead to a match against his former club.

Reports are saying that AS Monaco are nearing a deal to sign Henderson from Ajax. This time last year, Henderson moved to Ajax from Al-Ettifaq after forcing his way out of the Saudi club. That came after a controversial move to Saudi Arabia, as the then-captain faced the prospect of reduced playing time at Liverpool.

A report from a Dutch publication claims that Ajax have informed Monaco that a move will not go ahead this month, as Henderson is viewed as a key player in the club’s bid to secure Champions League football.

Henderson played in last night’s Europa League game against Galatasaray, but was not wearing the captain armband he had sported all season. He also refused an interview after the match, so it is unclear if he had been stripped of the captaincy.

Monaco is one of the four teams Liverpool could face in the UEFA Champions League’s Round of 16. If such a game materialises, one can only hope the Anfield faithful roundly boos Henderson for his forced exit and turning his back on the LGBT cause that he spoke up for during his time at the club.
