Super Falcons wing back Michelle Alozie says she wants to be a role model for anyone who wishes to follow in her footsteps.
Alozie has been making waves for her abilities to combine her activities as a footballer and a lab scientist.
She plays as a forward for Houston Dash a team in the National Women’s Soccer League and works as a research technician in Texas Children’s Hospital.
She started playing for the Super Falcons in 2021 and her talents took centre stage at 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The 26 year old was part of a Nigerian team that defeated Australia and outplayed finalists England in the round of 16 stage though they eventually lost on penalties to the Three Lionesses.
While she was at Yale university, Alozie majored in molecular, cellular and developmental biology.
She says she blew up quicker and got into the limelight than she expected.

“I blew up a little quicker than I would have ever expected. I just feel really grateful for the platform and I hope I can be role model for anyone who is looking to be in the science field but wants to pursue a different passion or a dream of theirs beforehand.”
Alozie was born in California in the United States of America to Nigerian parents.
She has netted once in 23 appearances for the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
She has gotten four goals and one assist in 17 NWSL matches this term.
