Tensions at Sevilla FC have reached a boiling point following a humiliating 1–0 loss to bottom-placed Real Oviedo.
Defeat to Oviedo is widely described by Sevilla supporters as the club’s most embarrassing defeat of the season.
According to reports from L’Équipe, around 50 masked fans intercepted Sevilla players at the entrance to the club’s training facility after the match.
The group reportedly hurled insults at players and staff, including Nigerian internationals Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke, as frustrations over the team’s dismal form spilled over.
Sevilla struggles stark
The team has now recorded 15 defeats, alongside just eight wins and seven draws, leaving them languishing in 17th place only two points above the relegation zone.

Sevilla’s alarming form has triggered major changes behind the scenes, including the dismissal of former manager Matías Almeyda on March 23, 2026.
In a bid to stabilize the situation, Sevilla appointed Luis García Plaza as head coach on a deal running until 2027.
